Government funding pays for support hours. It does not pay for the swimming class, the birthday cake, or the communication device that has a six-month wait. That is what gifts are for.

Where it goes

Every gift is spent on people, not overheads

We publish what donations fund. If you want to direct a gift to something specific, say so in the message field and we will honour it or return the gift.

Community participation
Class fees, gym memberships, event tickets and the transportation to get there. Funding covers support hours; it rarely covers the activity itself.
Birthdays and celebrations
A cake, a present, a gathering. Small things, and the difference between a house and a home.
Adaptive equipment
Communication devices, sensory equipment and adaptations that fall between funding streams and would otherwise wait months.
Making homes feel like homes
Furnishings, a garden, a decent sofa. Nobody should live somewhere that looks institutional because the budget said so.

About tax receipts

Legacy Point Care Inc. is a corporation, not a registered charity. Unless and until registered charitable status is confirmed, gifts are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt. You will receive a payment receipt confirming the gift, and we will say so plainly rather than leave you to find out at tax time.

If charitable registration is obtained, this page will be updated and receipting will follow Canada Revenue Agency requirements.

Giving by phone or transfer

Online giving is not switched on yet. We would still be glad of your support — please call the office and we will arrange it, including recurring gifts and in-kind donations.
